He was predeceased by: his parents, James McGilbert and Mary Ola Godwin Peebles; his wife Sharon Walker Peebles; and his siblings, Irene Godwin, Henry Peebles, Vernon Peebles, Wilborn Peebles, Clifton Peebles, Catherine Stuart, Silas Peebles, Leroy Peebles and Baby Peebles.
He is survived by: his sons, Lawrence Lester (Mallory Peebles) of Atmore, Anthony Peebles of Atmore and Frankie Peebles of Atmore, Alabama; his close friend Linda Roberts of Rabun, Alabama; his siblings, Arthur Raymond Peebles of Century, Paul Peebles of Cantonment, Florida, Ruth Spender of Boston Massachusetts and Luverne Diamond of Flomaton, Alabama; his grandchildren, Korthan Jo Peebles, Halle Ra Peebles, Sehoye Rose Buckley, Braxton Gaines Peebles, Elijah Bama Peebles, Joshua Peebles (Jordan), Colton Peebles (Kaylee), Tenleigh Brooke Peebles, Ashley Peebles and Frankie Peebles; and his caregiver Cathy Cassanova. He is also survived by four great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Petty Funeral Homes (9260 US-31, Atmore, AL 36502). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
