With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maggie Smith of Atmore, Alabama, who passed away on November 21, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Homer Smith. She is survived by: her mother Estelle Waltman Smith; her siblings, Lana Mitchell of Huxford, AL, Donna Phillips of Little River, AL, Cheryl Vickrey (Jerry) of Huxford, AL and Charles Shumpert; her close friend Alex Pate; and her siblings' children, Neal, Brian (Jessica), Angela (Rodney), Ashley (Cliff), Heather (Brian), Lynn and Matthew. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews, and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home (1322 S Main St, Atmore, AL 36502). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel (1322 S Main St, Atmore, AL 36502). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
