He was predeceased by: his parents, Doc Jackson Tidwell and Willie Sue Tidwell; his brother Randy; his sister-in-law Cathy Tidwell; his nephews, Shane Capes and Jamie Jenkins; and his brother-in-law Albert Jenkins.

He is survived by: his wife Dena Tidwell; his children, Christopher Tidwell (Leann), Susan McElroy (Mitchell), Jacob Tidwell and Keeley Roberts; his grandchildren, Jaken Lindsey, Logen Tidwell, Jastyn McElroy, Shaina and Davi; his siblings, David Tidwell, Tim Tidwell, Betty Barksdale (Ray), Becky Ledlow (Steve), Marlene Jenkins and Debra Kirby (Donnie); his cousin Steve Pruitt; and his close friends, Jerry Higdon and Johnny Bates. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the New Harmony Baptist Church (109 Church Rd, Attalla, AL 35954). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
