Preston Nix Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Preston Nix (Attalla, Alabama), who passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Preston Nix to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his mother Lovelace Nix, Sr.; his brothers, Lovelace Nix, Jr. and Robert Nix; and his sister-in-law Jannie Lee Childs Nix. He is survived by: his wife Mary Nix; his sons, Sgt. Marcus DeWayne Nix of Attalla, AL., Tyrone Nix (Toya) of Stephenville, TX. and Derrick Nix (Allison) of Auburn, AL.; his grandchildren, Tyvari Rashad Nix of Jackson, MS., Tiah Rakele Nix of Stephenville, TX, Ava Elizabeth Nix of Auburn, AL., Derrin Amos and Dray Eugene Nix of Auburn, AL.; his brother-in-law Amos William Green; and his cousin Geraldine Beason of Attalla, AL.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (801 3rd St NW, Attalla, AL 35954).
He also created the Nix Foundation for Scholarships.
