She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Coker; and her brother Barry C. Coker. She is survived by: her husband Henry W. Thornton; her siblings, Catherine Goodwin (Bill) and Jackson Coker (Catherine); her sister-in-law Gayle Brantley; her children, Terrie Thornton, Roy Thornton (Anna), Cathy Thornton, Jeff Thornton (Becky) and Woody Thornton (Holly); her grandchildren, Jay Berry (Alyson), Amanda Dixon (Bill), Candace Gazda (Charles), Payton Carter (Josh), Shayla Thornton, Madison Thornton, Noah Thornton, Tori Thornton, Ryan Thornton, Matthew Thornton, Katie Thornton and Jackson Thornton; and her great grandchildren, Benny, Rollie, Kane, Rankin, Abel and Lakyn. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Parkway Baptist Church (766 E University Dr, Auburn, AL 36830). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Parkinson's Foundation in memory of Gloria.
