“When I opened my front door the morning after Hurricane Opal, at 6 am, I couldn’t see the street, because of the fallen trees. But I heard a VOICE! “Hello? Hello? Anybody home?” It was Ruben! I was alone, but I knew, then, I’d be alright. Ruben, like my husband, worked at Auburn’s Poultry Science Department, and got to know one another. He was a great help to us for many years. Dependable, honest, and always the gentleman. ❤️ Loved his cap! Rest in peace, Ruben.”
