Dempsey James Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on August 22, 2025, at the age of 85, Dempsey James (Bay Minette, Alabama) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmer James and Nellie Keith James; his sons, Robert Jarvis and Dempsey James Jr.; and his siblings, Junior Ray James, Jimmie James, David Harrison and Darlene Harrison Muench.

He is survived by: his wife Anita Bloodworth James; his children, Jaynee Lynne Vanderheym (Roger) of Australia, Michael Perkins of Creola, AL, Jenny Perkins Kennedy (Ricky) of Leesville, SC and Jeff Perkins (Aimee) of Bay Minette, AL.; and his sister Anne Harrison Slay (Ron). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Children's Hosptial.
