He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hadley Hicks of Rabun; his children, Christy Shawn Brown (Michael) of Rabun, David O'Ryne Hicks (Beth) of Rabun and Jack Cox (Jamie) of Perdido, AL; his siblings, Joe Hicks (Marie) of Stapleton, AL, Glen Hicks (Diane) of Phillipsville, Ricky Hicks (Sonya) of Bay Minette, AL, Steve Hicks (Mary) of Perdido, AL, Patsy Hicks Minchew (Donnie) of Perdido, AL and Beverly Hicks Caraway (Jeff) of Huxford, AL; his grandchildren, Caleb Hicks, Bryant Hicks, Blake Hicks, Justin Hicks, Brittany Byrd, Courtney Homan, Brandon Brown, Jacob Cox and Shaylee Sellers; and his great grandchildren, Anna-Lee Byrd, Mikey Byrd, Josie Lambert, Averi Hughen, Peyton Homan, Brycen Brown and Addison Brown.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Guy's Chapel Methodist Church.
