He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Thompson; his children, Elizabeth Thompson Day, Philip Colter Day and Susan Thompson Reed; his sister Jo Anne Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Martha and James Vaughn; and his pet Ginger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
