He was predeceased by: his parents, Acie Washburn and Clara Washburn; and his siblings, Carolyn Chapman, Hoyt Washburn and Jerry Washburn.

He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Christopher and Angela Byram; his grandchildren, Conner, Dylan, Sean, Jackson and Lainey; and his brothers, Donald (Pat) of Mt Olive and Michael Mesa (Tammy).
