He was predeceased by: his wife Paddy Hulsey Moore; his parents, Eugene Herbert, Sr. and Anne Slone Moore; and his brother-in-law John Clay Earnest. He is survived by: his children, Richard Alan Moore (Linda), Susan Moore Kirkpatrick (Max), Cary Eugene "Buck" Moore (Debbie) and Melissa Moore Ethridge (Brian); his grandchildren, Jay Michael Woods (Tiffany), Jeremy Lee Woods (Anna), Felicia Culwell Buck (Jeff), Meghan Moore Mast (Jack), Liam Brown (Charlotte), Mollie Anne Moore, Emily Rebecca Kirkpatrick, Cary Paige Moore, John Moore Ethridge, Annie Laura Ethridge and Margaret Melissa Ethridge; his sister Rebecca Moore Earnest; his nephews, John Clay Earnest, Jr. (Carroll), David Moore Earnest (Teresa), Joel Slone Earnest (Cami) and Philip Brown Earnest (Beth); and his close friends, Jim Ed, Jane Mulkin, Harold and Jeanette Sorrells. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Buddy Moore Trucking Endowed Supply Chain Management Scholarship at Auburn University, or the Alabama Trucking Association Foundation.
