Kermit Theodore Jackwell Davis Obituary

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, Kermit T.J. Davis "Ted" of Bessemer, AL was surrounded by loved ones when he went on to be with the Lord. He passed due to complications of congestive heart failure. He was born on November 30, 1944. He was 77 years old. He left behind his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Davis, and their four children; Teddy Davis (Susan), Jackie Fuller (Mike), Dawn Brown (Chris), Melinda Cottingham (Jason) and nine beautiful grandchildren; Whitney and Wesley Davis, Jacob and Emma Fuller, Campbell, Hudson, and Alyssa Brown, Maddie and Gracie Cottingham. He was very proud of his entire family and loved each and every one of them dearly. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Ted served four years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He went on to graduate from UAB with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and political science. Ted then went on to serve 33 years with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father (Virgie and Kermit Davis) and his siblings (Jerry, Ben, Thomas, and Joyce).

He is survived by his siblings (Judy, Randy, and Joan).

Visitation for family and friends will be held at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10 am with service to follow at 11 am. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 1:15pm. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior for burial service.
