He was predeceased by: his parents, Jospeh Anthony Salamone and Catherine Perricotti Salamone. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Pittman Salamone; his children, Joe "Joey" Salamone (Angela) and Shae Sullivan Billingsley (Charles); his grandchildren, Caleb Billingsley, Cooper Billingsley and Christina Salamone; and his siblings, Carl Salamone (Mary Lou), Mary Tombrello (John) and Mag Portera (Cecil).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Human Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
