In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Vanessa had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Vanessa may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She is survived by: her son E. Norman Carter III (Norm); her grandchildren, Earl Norman Carter (Nick), Courtney A. Carter Fields (Devon), Joshua Scout Carter (Megan), Samantha J. Carter and Caleb Trae Carter; and her great grandchildren, Tucker Fields and Tallulah Carter.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home (1300 4th Ave N, Bessemer, AL 35020). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
