He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sharron; his children, John Malmquist (Diane) and Lara Hurst (Thomas); his grandchildren, Charlie, Sara, Van, Ashley, Erin and Odette; his parents, George Malmquist and Ina Malmquist; his stepmother Betty; and his brothers, Robert and Richard Malmquist.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to Allen's headstone.
