She was predeceased by: her parents, William Andrew Owens and Hattie Maude Boyd Owens; her husband Edgar H. Freeman, Jr.; and her siblings, Elva Jean Owens, William Woodrow Owens and James Bennie Owens.
She is survived by: her daughter Gwen Cork (Evan); her granddaughters, Daphne Neill (Patrick) and Britney Herrera (Isaac); and her brother Paul Owens (Joan). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
