He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis David Whitten and Nora Lee Whitten; and his siblings, Curtis Whitten of Dothan, AL and Helen Whitten Buie of Webb, AL.. He is survived by: his daughters, Emily McDaniel (Randy) of Trussville and Amy Trautwein (Rob) of Trussville; his wife Janice Cotton Whitten; his grandchildren, Sarah Moran (JR), Austin McDaniel (Baylie), Chad Trautwein (Emily) and Chase Trautwein; and his great grandchildren, Katie Grace Moran, Whitten Randle Moran, Hudson, Hayes and Houston Trautwein.

Memorial donations can be made in Benjamin's name to Big Oak Ranch, Baptist Children's Home or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
