With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carey Cox (Birmingham, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 20, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Kinum Cox; his parents, Watson M. Cox and Eula Mae Cox; and his siblings, Jimmy Cox, Betty Jean Harris, Lena Mae Harris and Carolyn Sue Wallace.
He is survived by: his daughter Traci Cox Cardwell (Eric); his grandchildren, Jacob Self, Abbie Self, Laura Cardwell and Chelsea Cardwell; and his brother Dan T. Cox, Sr..
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) , in his memory.
