She was predeceased by: her parents, William Espy and Doris Espy; her daughter Lynn Stephens; and her sister Virginia Espy Grubb. She is survived by: her husband Arthur Stephens; her daughter Sandi Stephens Simmons (Clay Simmons); her grandchildren, Kelly Roper (Jim), Megan Cobb (Trevor), Heath Simmons (Andrea), Rachel Simmons, Laura Simmons (Ben) and David Simmons; her great grandchildren, Kaelynn, McKenna Whitworth, Selah, Sadie and Joshua Cobb; and her grandchildren, Drew, Karina, Gabby, Elena Simmons, Baela, Kelton Strong and Gaia Hilton.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 9:30 AM and at 1:00 PM. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the River Chapel (3605 Ratliff Rd, Birmingham, AL 35210).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Kirkwood Chapel Fund or Huntsville First United Methodist Church.
