He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Louise Herrington Ferguson; his parents, John Richard Ferguson and Dessie McCay Ferguson; and his sisters, Willa Mae Ferguson Hudson and Frances Sarah Ferguson Johnson.

He is survived by: his son Galen Ferguson (Rosemary) of Irondale; his grandson Stephen Neal Ferguson; and his brothers, Johnny and Terry Ferguson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
