She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Mayo Roper and James Oliver Roper. She is survived by: her husband John Bowden Sr.; her sons, John Bowden Jr. (Kim) and Jason Bowden; her grandchildren, Kayla Woosley (Houston), Bailey Bowden (Katie), Autumn Bowden, Colin Bowden, Tristan Bentley, Makenna Bentley, Connor Bowman and Seth Bowman; her great grandchildren, Paislee West, Hudson Bowden and Ember Woosley; and her siblings, Donna Smith (James), Dana Kiedinger (Ronnie) and Jimmy Roper. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
