With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Blackburn of Birmingham, Alabama, born in Athens, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 20, 2025 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Kari Tibbs, Lynsey Tibbs, Scott Elmore, Jennifer Weaver (Calvin), Katie Martin (Caleb), Jonathan Elmore (Katie), Alisa Anderson (Luke), Christopher Emerich and Tyler Joynt (Jody); and his great grandchildren, Lexi Elmore, Bailey, Trey, Colby, Chase, Ellie Weaver, Brielle, Nolan Martin, Madison, Marie, Grady Elmore, Sophia, Tate, Finn Anderson, Grayson and Lucy.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Lou Ann Tibbs (late Wayne), Cynthia Elmore (Mitch), Karen Emerich (David) and Cheryl Joynt (Mitch); and his brother Billie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
