He was predeceased by: his wife Zula Mae Elam; and his siblings, William S. "Jack" Elam, Ormond Elam and Allene Privett. He is survived by: his sister Mervene Currie; his daughters, Brenda Boggan and Wanda Hobbs (Greg); his grandchildren, Patrick Hobbs (Sarah), Kay Self, Kevin Hobbs (Rachel) and Amanda Jordan (Nathan); and his great grandchildren, Noah, Hunter Jordan, Riley, Cole Hobbs and Sammy Hobbs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ridout's Trussville Chapel (1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens (Jefferson Memorial Gardens Dam, Birmingham, AL 35235).
