It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James I. Owens (Birmingham, Alabama), born in Shelby, Alabama, who passed away on November 28, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lee and Evola Owens; his brothers, Luther B. and Chester Leon Owens; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Owens, Barbara Williams and Faye D. Owens.

He is survived by: his son James I. Owens, Jr; his grandchildren, James I. Owens, III (Faith) and Anna Owens; and his great grandchild Hattie Jo Owens. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
