He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leonard and Florence Earle McVoy (Jordan); and his brother William. He is survived by: his sister Elizabeth McVoy Lipscomb; and his sibling's children, Dorothy Elizabeth Lipscomb, James McVoy Lipscomb and Charles Stuart Lipscomb. He is also survived by six great nephews and nieces, as well as many extended family and dear friends.
