With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Richard Cotner of Birmingham, Alabama, born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who passed away on April 25, 2022 at the age of 45. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his son Julian Cotner; his close friend Heather Carter; his parents, Sherry Dunkin Romano (Paul) and James R. Cotner, Jr.; his sister Rebecca Cotner Ralston (Peter); his grandparents, Joan Meacham, James R. Cotner Sr., Mildred Nichols McWhorter (Spud), Jerry and Mary Jean Romano; his niece Grace Ann Ralston; and his nephew Cooper Ralston. He is also survived by many uncles, cousins and friends.
