With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kenneth Paul Lavelle in Birmingham, Alabama, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on October 12, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Emily H. Lavelle; his parents, Warren P. Lavelle and Natalie F. Lavelle; and his granddaughter Rachel Grace Buford. He is survived by: his children, Paul K. Lavelle (Jennifer), John C. Lavelle (Patricia) and Aileen E. Lavelle Buford (Marshall); his brother Michael Warren Lavelle (Betty); and his grandchildren, Connor J. Lavelle, Anna Victoria Lavelle, Emily Elizabeth Lavelle, Thomas A. Buford, Eric W. Buford and Nathan T. Buford.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Parish (5514 Double Oak Ln, Birmingham, AL 35242). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124).
In lieu of flowers, and in accordance with the wishes of Emily and Kenneth Lavelle, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, in loving memory of Kenneth.
