She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lamar Ryals and Essie Yancey Ryals; her husband Hall Williams Thompson Sr.; her siblings, George Lamar Ryals Jr. and Mildred Ryals Conley; her brother-in-law John Conley; her son Hall Williams Thompson Jr.; her daughters-in-law, Patricia Thompson and Nancy Stewart Thompson (George); and her granddaughter Mary Alston Thompson.
She is survived by: her niece Carole Marie Hamlin; her children, Judy Thompson, George Thompson, Mike Thompson (Genie) and Lisa Thompson Smith (Howard); her grandchildren, Ben Thompson (Jennifer), Caroline Thompson Little (Mark), Lucy Thompson Marsh (Jacob), George Thompson Jr. (Mackin), Dorothy Thompson Phillips (Mac), Annie Thompson Somerville (Connor), Mallie Froehlich and Maxwell Thompson Keena (Bradley); and her great grandchildren, Nancy Ryals Little, Hallsey Marsh, Witt Little, Drew Goodner, Jules Little, Fenn Goodner, Mamie Marsh, Frances Hall Thompson, Tanner Mackin Thompson, Thompson Edward Somerville, George Thompson III, Brewster Adams Somerville, Cope Monroe Phillips and Ella Ann Thompson.
