Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mary touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clement Sweatman Walter Jr. and Elizabeth Davie Walter. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Elizabeth Lankford (Carol Lockyear), Heather Lankford Waterman (Tony) and Molly Lankford Allen (Roger); her sisters, Jean Walter Reed (Bill) and Susan Walter Stockham; and her grandchildren, Morgan Waterman (Bremen), Noah Waterman, Bailey Allen and Will Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that donations may be made in Mary's memory to The Greater Birmingham Humane Society or Better Basics, an organization dedicated to advancing children's literacy in Alabama.
