With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Matushka Jewel Monica Tallant in Birmingham, Alabama, born in Elrod, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 12, 2025 at the age of 92. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her siblings, John and Mattie Bell Boswell; her significant other William Tallant; her sisters, Betty June Meadows, Norma Jean Downs and Marguarite Goodwin; her son-in-law William McCoy; her daughters, Dorothy McCoy, Melissa Lewis-Young (Richard), Melanie Wheeler (Larry), Janelle Davis and Rhonda McCracken (Paul); and her parents, Paul Davis (Archpriest) and Michael Dunstan. She was also cherished by 13 grandchildren, 29 Great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 5:00 PM and at 6:00 PM at the Bell Funeral Home (2077 Pratt Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35214). A burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church (105 Park Ave, Brookside, AL 35036).
