With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Otis Lee Pruitt Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 7, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Otis farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Otis is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Beavers and Arthur Pruitt; and his sisters, Elma Lucille Cooper of Rhode Island and Ella L. Bridges of Birmingham, Alabama.. He is survived by: his children, Janay Smith, Lisa Smith, AJ Pruitt and Devin Pruitt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home (1498 5th Ave, Pleasant Grove, AL 35127). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Moody Temple Cme Church (228 61st St, Fairfield, AL 35064).
