Peggy Karr Zanaty Obituary
We announce the death of Peggy Karr Zanaty of Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 90. Peggy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Peggy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Peggy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Peggy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Judge Wadell Charles Zanaty, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Kimberley Zanaty Reeves (Randy) of Homewood; her grandson Chuck Reeves of Sorrento, Florida.; her brother Bobby Karr of Newnan; and her brothers-in-law, Charles N. Zanaty, Sr. of Homewood and Edward S. Zanaty, Sr. of Homewood. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ridout's Valley Chapel (1800 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209). A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery (600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211).
