He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Davis Downey Sr.; and his son Raymond Davis Downey III. He is survived by: his mother Claire Brown Downey; his wife Julie Wright Downey; his daughter Patricia "Tricia" Downey Crenshaw (Clayton); and his siblings, Troy Sterling Downey, Sr., Gordon Driscoll Downey, Daniel Edward Downey (Heather) and Leslie Downey Collins (Rick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ray's honor to Encore Respite Ministry at Canterbury United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend special thanks to the team at Encore for their compassionate support of Julie and Tricia as they navigated every stage of Alzheimer's with Ray.
