He was predeceased by: his wife Cheryl Dickerson; his mother Dell Fillingim; and his sister Bonnie Rice. He is survived by: his son Richard Thomas (April); his former wife April Owens; his son Peyton; his grandson Peyton; his sister Mary Thomas; his nieces, Robin Roberts and Ellen Foley; Becky Moskowitz. He is also survived by his great-nieces, great-nephews, and their spouses and children.
