It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Thomas Stewart (Birmingham, Alabama), who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Richard may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Frances Stewart and Lloyd Leslie Stewart, Jr.; and his brother L. L. Stewart, III. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Stewart; his daughter Ginger Boggan; his son-in-law Craig; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Lennon and Marielle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
