She was predeceased by: her parents, George Yancey and Thelma Hart Yancey of Vincent's East Hospital; and her siblings, Thomas Yancey, Beecher Yancey, Lilma Adams, Clara Latham and Ledora Morris.
She is survived by: her husband Benny Downs; her daughter Shelly; her son-in-law Chris Upton; her grandson Hudson Thomas; her stepgrandson Knox Upton; and her siblings, Gertha Lynn, Roberta White and Jim Yancey. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Snead Funeral Home (170 Richman Dr, Snead, AL 35952). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church (87927 US-278, Snead, AL 35952). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Berry-Brookshire Cemetery.
