Charles Dudley Guthrie Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Dudley Guthrie (Boaz, Alabama), who passed away on September 2, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Guthrie and Edna Guthrie; his wife Marilyn; his daughter Julie Vitalo (John); his granddaughters, Audrey Vitalo, Charlotte Vitalo and Busi Sibeko; his siblings, Brenda Fields, Treva Lackey (Lellwyn) and Terry Gaither (Vonnie); and his sister-in-law Sylvia Wood (Bob). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

He loved by making up his own songs and dances during our COVID-induced family "spirit week," including one about "corn squeezin'.".

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jefferson State Community College scholarships fund. Please check "scholarships" and in the designation box, note that the donation is in memory of Dr. Guthrie.
