He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Crosslin Kirkland; his sons, Ronald Lee Kirkland of Brentwood, Tennessee, Shane Kirkland (Erin) of Killen, Alabama and Josh Kirkland (Colleen) of Alpharetta; his grandchildren, Briana Kirkland of Dumfries, Virginia, Zachary Kirkland of Florence, Alabama, Grant Kirkland (Harley) of Anacortes, Washington, Coen, Kaleb and Ava Laws of Alpharetta, Georgia.; and his sister-in-law Mary Gaines (Sam) of Knoxville, Tennessee.. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
