She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Lee and Nellie Jane Waldrop Gilbert; her sisters, Senior Griffin and Shirley Caldwell; and her stepbrother Charles Gilbert.
She is survived by: her son James Dewey Shannon; her daughter-in-law Betty Shannon of Birmingham; her daughters, Sharon (Billy Ainsworth) and Susan (Laine Spruiell); and her grandchildren, Nicole Spruiell, Will, Kendall Ainsworth, Shannon, Clint Johnston, Blake, Monica Spruiell, Natalie Shannon, Austin, Ann Ever Ainsworth, Anna, Chris Groom, Robby and Caroline Spruiell. She is also survived by 20 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McRae Chapel (99 Glenda Dr, Boaz, AL 35957). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
