She was predeceased by: her husband James E. Byrd; her parents, Reverend John Franklin and Mary Lee Barfoot Sanders; her siblings, Martha Nell Corkins and James F. "Bud" Sanders; and her son-in-law David Hume West.
She is survived by: her children, Suzette West, Juliette Adams, Tammy Alford (Chuck) and John M. West (Sharon); her grandchildren, John David West, Mary Leigh Hall (Wesley), Alex Adams, Norma Gantt, Tara Gantt, Crystal Defee (Brandon), Luke West, Mallie Johnson (Errin) and Marli Alford; and her sister Betty Baggett (Jimmy). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
