He was predeceased by: his father Robert Mason Jones; his wife Clara Pearl Michell; his mother Lena Mae Pittman; his grandmother Earlene Burnett; his sister Beverly Jones; and his siblings-in-law, Willie L. Mitchell, O. J. Mitchell, Willie Mack Mitchell, Lula Bell Burnett, Etta Ruth Matthews and Annie Clyde Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Jessica Cook (Quentin) of Greenville, AL and Cedric Jones (Amanda) of Troy, AL; his grandchildren, Zendaya Tankersley of Troy, AL, Rylan and Kashlyn Cook of Greenville, AL; his siblings, Larry Jones of Columbus, GA, James E. Pittman of Huntsville, AL, Tony Pittman of Columbus, GA, Manzanita Jones of Dozier, AL and Edwenia Howard of Columbus, GA; his sisters-in-law, Marie Nelson of Brooklyn, NY, Helen Daniels of Brantley, AL, Clidie Mae Lee of Brantley, AL and Nadine Sanders (Ronnie Joe) of Bakersfield, CA; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Joseph, Doe Jean Knighten, Larry, Sabrina Phillips, Johnny, Nelda Hinson, Jerome Harrod (Hot), Chris Byrd, Mark Kelly, James Harris, James Snider, Derrick Wright, Ruby Peterson, Bobby, Monica Kelly, Diaon Cook, Bill Jones, Dwight, Dwayne Pitts and Micheal Mitchell.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Brantley High School (8879 N Main St, Brantley, AL 36009).
