We announce the death of Gary Don Brooks Sr. of Brierfield, Alabama, who passed away on July 6, 2026, at the age of 66. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Brooks and Maggie "Dean" Rooks Brooks; and his sister Vicki Holloway. He is survived by: his significant other Cynthia Blasingame; his children, Don Brooks, Chastity Franks, Misty Franks, Marlana Blasingame, Shane Wakefield (Ashley) and David Scofield; his grandchildren, Kali Aurora Dean McCool, Dominick Williams, Blaine Williams, Ryan Ingram, David Wayne Dean, Elora Edmondson, Delia Lee and Brennon Scofield; his great grandchildren, Octavia Dean, Ryder Dean, Aiden Edmondson, Nova Williams and Dean Edmondson; his brother Victor Brooks; and his pet BJ. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
