She was predeceased by: her parents, T. C. Young and Lillie Mae Young; and her siblings, Vera Mae Cottingham, Theodis Young Sr., Roxie Sims Lightfoot, Thomas Young and Gladys Jean Young.
She is survived by: her children, Shaketa Baker (Demetrius), Shameka Chism (David), Shamel Young (Jameke), Antonio Young (Monique), Taneeka Young, DeUnte Holman, Jarius Grimsley, KeUndre'Chism and Jasiah DuBose; and her brothers, Rev. Charles Young (Ruth), Benny Young (Elizabeth), Albert Young and Clifton Young.
She served on several volunteer committees: Brierfield Volunteer Fire Department Board, on the voting poll, meals on wheels, Silver Club, and Shelby County RSVP.
