He was predeceased by : his parents, Benjamin F. Cowen and Nina Cowen; and his brother Ben Cowan, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Jeannie Cowen; his children, Sharalea Blewett (Bryan), Gena Philpott (Craig) and Henry "Skip" Cowen, Jr. (Teresa); his sister Martha Stausser; and his grandchildren, Carissa, Jordon, LeAn, Brandon, Mark and Justin.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Wildwood Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery (16 Lifestyle Ln, Wildwood, GA 30757).
