She was predeceased by: her father Woodrow Workman; and her siblings, Junior, Thomas, Sammy, Claude Workman, Geraldine Johnson and Wilma Tinker.

She is survived by: her husband John Barnes; her mother Betty Workman; her children, Cherish Sutherland (Chris) and Ron Waldrop (Beth Gass); her siblings, Denise Wilson (George), Deloris Norris (Glen), Clyde and Noah Workman; her grandchildren, Laelynn Sutherland, Lane Waldrop and Holden Waldrop; and her close friends, Sharivea Ni't and Sandy Pritchett.
