He is survived by: his wife Donita Black Benson; his children, Shontae Parker (Jeremy), Caleb Benson (Tiffany), Marisa Gray (Jody) and Jason Black (Traci); his sister Glenda Lamb (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Preslie Gilliam (Weston), Alannah Tinker (Sullivan), Paesli Parker, Collin Gray, Jace Benson, Jackson Black, Lincoln Black, Emmett Black, Clara Benson and Winter Black; his great grandchild Rip Gilliam; and his stepmother Ruth Holloway. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
