He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earlie Gibson and Mary Leona Sellers Gibson; his wife Eldora Piland Gibson; and his siblings, Catherine Wade, Murray Harlin Gibson Sr., Winston Wayne Gibson and Arnold McCajah Gibson.

He is survived by: his children, Gordon Scott Gibson (Suzanne) of Northport, AL and Teresa Sprowl (Bobby) of Northport, AL; his grandchildren, Trevor Sprowl (Jocelyn), Gracson Sprowl, Noah Gibson, Caroline Gibson and Jon Mark Sprowl (Marie); his great grandchildren, Blair Sprowl, Leighton Sprowl, Rawlings Sprowl, Kinsley Sprowl, Karson Sprowl and Kennedy Sprowl; his siblings, Mark Gibson (Jackie) of Toxey, Evangeline Mosley of Gilbertown and Linda Mills of Chatom; and his siblings-in-law, Anita Stephens Gibson of Tuscaloosa, Paul Hanser (Donna) of Wimberley, TX and Larry Perry (Mari) of Branham, TX.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Morgan Chapel Cemetery.
