She was predeceased by: her husband C. B. Gilbert, Jr.; her children, Angela Karen Layman, Linda Marlene Parlee-Hager and David Robin Gilbert; her grandchildren, Amy L. Cruz, James Leslie Taylor and David Samuel De Leon; her siblings, Clara Mae Taylor, Alla Jean Booth and Phillip "Bud" Strickland; and her parents, Samuel Strickland and Corine Strickland.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Duane Gilbert, Paul Bryant Gilbert and James Michael Gilbert; her granddaughter Lisa E. De Leon; and her sisters, Virginia Ruth Powell (Jimmy) and Bennie Leigh Mosley. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
