He is survived by: his son Shannon Smitherman (Yvette); his mother Lois Smitherman; his sisters, Linda Shirley (Butch) and Vicki Jarrette; his niece Somer Miller (Leo); his great-niece Lily; and his nephew Chance Shirley (Stacey).
