He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Marie Poe; his parents, Nellie Faye Poe and Johnnie Earl Poe; and his siblings, Lewis Durwood, Carl Leon and Betty Jane.

He is survived by: his children, Eric John Poe (Whitney), Brian Sean Poe (Stacy), Heather Nicole Stubbs (Corey), Brittany Wells and Cody Sharpe (Christy); his siblings, Ricky Wayne (Carolyne), Larry Charles (Bernadette), Janie Mae, Lucy Christine, Mary Elaine (James) and Johnnie Faye (Wayne); and his close friend Bobbie. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
